A blizzard yesterday evening - a sparkling, beautiful winters day today. The whole country was forced to a halt by 3" of snow. The Nursery was closed for the day. We made the most of it in Roundwood Park. All of Marlas 'boyfriends' were there and also Sally and Al [who are moving to Capetown on the 1.March], Russell and Dana, Tiger and Oli, Sarah and Lucy.

Marla and Leni were playing on our mattress. She just got up and walked across the bed and sat down again. Just like that.
She does hate falling back on her bum when she's on the floor. I guess that's why she kept crawling.
We laughed.

4-in-a-row with Autumn and Rosie:

Marla and Leni simultaneously lodged one pea each up their respective noses. Marlas pea had disappeared far up out of sight. Fortunately they where cooked ones. Holding mouth and the second nostril shut catapulted them back out.
Which is good.
Shove pea up your nose: tick. tick.

We had a lovely, busy little tea party.
Thank you all for coming. Thank you Amely for the 'Wild Things' t-shirt, Dana and family for the winter-jasmine (it will look great next to the front door), Michael for the loudest activity toy yet, Zana for bringing the boys, Jenny, Luke and Ben for 'lift the flap - jack', Tamra for sleeping Theo....
At some point pretty much ALL the children squeezed into the little playhouse. Leni included.
And no, we didn't have party bags, and after some tears because of it, I don't intent to provide any ever again. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind!

We met Stef & Rob and Penny & Tim at the Bull and Bush in Hampstead for lunch. Bad lunch, bad-bad lunch but good company. Tim went for a quick runaround Golders Green Park and the playground with us. It was cold.
Stef and Rob were at the end of their Christmas visit from Sidney. It was nice to catch up. They seemed very happy with their lifes.
We stayed at Tim & Pennys over night, which was a nice break. It's just sooo exciting! Especially for Leni, who doesn't get out as much as Marla did at her age - for logistical reasons. Good for us too - having a tipple with friends and all that.
[Has any of you with your flash mobiles got a group shot of us to put up?]
On Sunday - a flying visit at Michael and Migs. Good to see you guys. And thanks for Lenis birthday present. She boogies with tunes and loves it.
Jonathan and me were so tired and drained on New Years eve, we gave Graham and Fionas party a miss and stayed in. Jackie Chan 'Shanghai Noon', half a bottle of bubbles between us and off to bed at 11. We had a lovely evening.
We wish all our friends and family a good 2004. For many of whom it can easily get better and it will.
We want to overcome our financial struggles and be free... free to do what we want to do.
And we want Marla and Leni to continue to be their wonderful selves.
