you cheeky monkeys. Jonathan and me had to chill today. Marla was busy on the farm, they had a spot of bother with those pesky anti hunt activiststs. She had to take an extended nap after all that. Leni was horticulturally busy. So there.

It was a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
BBQ, drink, smoke, cake, chat and children kept us busy and laughing through until evening. Thank’s for coming. Emma and John, excellent work with those ‘rissoles’ - Graham on the grill - Dana and Aysa relaxing - greetings to Russel in Belgrade, we missed you - we've also missed Penny, who is in Oz. Marla threw me a 'Shut up, mummi!' on the way to the toilet. I guess I was going on a bit about her not doing what she's told [in this case going to the toilet before we go out]. Unfortunately it cracked Jonathan and me up and we set a dangerous precedent. Of course she had learnt it from me, sometimes falling back on crude and desperate measures to stop her constant chatter.

Rockets 3rd Birthday
The girls were both so lovely, healthy and good today, they were a real joy to be with. Lots of giggles and fun with Leni while Marla was at her playgroup. After a quick runaround on the playground, Marla and Leni both had a good sleep.
Then party time! Crazy, loud, games, dance, sweets, crisps and of course a lot of cake. Thanks to Tiger, Oli and Rocket for a great time despite the wet.

Btw. it'll be Jonathans birthday on the 26th - this bank holiday monday. Get-together at ours. 3pm. Bring bubbles and something for the bbq [if the weather holds]. Hope to see you there.

Spring rain
After some saturday DIY around the house, a walk in the woods of the West Heath and Golders Green Park. Lush and green. Rhododendrons and azaleas in flower. Lots of walking. The occasional little strop.
Pub lunch in the 'Old Bull and Bush'. Marlas first attempts at a kicker table.
Mitchell wanted to know the make of our spiffy bike seat. It's one of those. And it really is great to cycle with your kid between your arms, chatting and pointing and sharing the ride.

Kaffeeklatsch
It’s a lovely train ride overground from Willesden Junction to Clapham.
While Marla spent the day putting her dad through his paces at Bramleys, Leni and me met our friend Amely in ‘fresh and wild’ for coffee, cake and chat. As always most inspiring and lovely. Thanks. Leni was chatty and smiley, too.

and the girls are still coughing. All of last night and today as well. And it was also a full on fighting day. Marla was really pushing and being difficult. Early bedtime for us.
